SEE YOU AT THE POLE

It was an exciting morning to see high school and middle school teens rally around their flagpole to pray. It was the "See You at the Pole" organized by our very own Christine Bennett. We also had Baylee Hisey that helped out with worship. We also had some of our other teens present at the pole.

CAMPUS MISSIONARY CONFERENCE

A group of 8 teens traveled to Paola Kansa to attend a Campus Missionary Conference entitled “Released”. These 8 teens willingly signed up to be trained to be missionaries to their middle and high schools. The conference was very powerful and the teens were significantly challenged to “step up to the plate” of friendship evangelism. They were informed of the urgency for teenagers’ lives to be changed in schools across the nation. Statistics show that currently only 4% of American students KNOW who Jesus is. We currently have the biggest missions field sitting at our teens’ fingertips. Five areas of focus were explained and applied to help students in their new endeavor: PRAY, LIVE, SERVE, GIVE & TELL.

Many of the teens attending Wild Youth are excited about sharing the message of Christ in their schools and are willing to take extreme measures to make Christ known. Each student that attended “Released” has agreed to meet bi-weekly to discuss a “field manual” of evangelism recommended at the conference called “G5.” Each student will continue to be trained and encouraged in this great mission. Currently FLAG has Campus Missionaries to PHS, PMS, Girard, Frontenac, and Columbus.

I challenge you to keep our Campus Missionaries in prayer. These students are the future of American Christianity and need your support.

WELCOME TO WILD

Welcome to the newly launched WILD youth ministry Blog. We are a FLAG ministry that meets every Wednesday night from 7:00 to 8:30pm. We have a group of 30 to 35 energized on-fire teens that hangout with us on a weekly basis. We have teens from Pittsburg high school and middle school, colombus, Girard, Frontenac, and Northeast high schools. Our teens vary from 12 to 18 years of age. We currently have foreign exchange students from Germany, Korean, Vietnam and Italy.

We have had an exciting summer where God has been doing some exciting things in the lives of our teens. Starting with Summer Camp where teens gave their lives to God for the first time to teens getting baptized in the Holy Spirit. During our Wednesday night services, God has been doing some awesome stuff in the lives of our teens. He has been challenging some teens to step out of their comfort zone and take bold steps for Him. We have a group of 9 teens that have signed up for a Campus Missionaries training conference (Release) in Paola KS. These 9 teens want to be equipped to be missionaries to their schools. This is an exciting time in the life of our youth ministry. I feel that God has great plans for our schools and he is preparing teens across our nation to step up to the plate.

We kicked off summer with a road trip to Joplin were we hung out at Fuddruckers and Lazer City. We then had a swimming and Air soft event. We also had a Back to School lockin and Scavenger Hunt, which was a great success. We are getting ready to begin our PSU concession stand fundraiser to raise funds for Speed The Light missions giving. This will also give teens an opportunity to raise funds for their own teen accounts. We also have a camping night coming up in October and Youth Convention in November.

If you are a parent that has a teenager that is not involved in a youth ministry I strongly encourage you to get them plugged in so that they can build Vertical and Horizontal relationships.
