“ I had the most adorable group of kids that have ever existed on the face of the Earth. There was Layla, Zamarie, Neveah, Deja, Nashyyamiah, and Kashia. Layla was my baby, she always wanted to sit on my lap and go everywhere with me and she was as cute as humanly possible, but you better believe this four year old can cuss you out in a heartbeat if something happens that she doesn’t like. Zamarie never stops moving. One moment he’s in his seat likes he’s supposed to be and the next he’s jumping off the stage or he’s on the balcony. He only has one outfit. Neveah is a total sweetheart. She loves playing with my hair because I have “white girl hair” and “that’s cool”. Deja, Nashyamiah, and Kashia are sisters. Neveah and Layla are their cousins. None of them share the same pair of parents though they’re less than a year apart. I know Neveah and Layla’s mom abuses alcolhol and drugs which they don’t understand why its wrong. These are just a few of my babies and I’m going to miss them like crazy. I cried when they all hugged me and said they would miss me” – Amber Smith

“ I saw a kid who was 4 and won a prize, but it was taken away. After they handed out backpacks, he saw a ball that fell out of my pocket and when I gave it to him, his smile was so BIG!” – Conner Lehman

WILD YOUTH - MISSIONS TRIP

“ I saw kids without clothes and children smelled so bad I could hardly stand it. At first I was agitated by the smell, but God melted my heart. I realized that no one chooses to smell that way. They rarely get to shower. That’s something I won’t soon forget.” – Ryan Lechien

“ This week was definitely a great and humbling experience for me. I am definitely more thankful for the stuff God has blessed me with. Seeing some of the kids and their lifestyles they lived made me feel really bad for them and like I should take everything I owned and give it all to them. I was glad the Lord had used me and gave me the strength to love these kids no matter how bad they got on my nerves. It was definitely hard, but I know that we had all touched kids hearts in some way and I pray that they will endure and remember and preach what they heard these past few days. I will never forget some of these kids faces and I will continue to pray for them.” –Noah Monsour

“ I had more fun on this trip than any other trip I’d ever been on. I feel so more connected to God an that this is something I would love to do for as long as possible. I realized that I really don’t have a tough life at all. I will have more respect for God, myself, and others.” – Montana Cherry

On this trip, I saw a kid walking around the church with baseball cleats as his only shoes. I also realized I love working with kids and would like to use that gift for God.” – Grant Cason

“ This week there was this one girl who had scars and scratches up and down her arm and had holes all over her clothes. I decided just to sit down by her and talk a little to her and she said that she was born with this one big scar on her foot so she couldn’t walk. When everyone went up to dance I decided just to hold and just try to make her feel important and let her know that God is always with her and that makes me want to be so thankful for what I have and that I will start praying for each and every one of those kids. I hope she will remember me” – Carrie Napier

“ I had a great time! I hated to see the little kids cry… I gave them hugs because it made my heart melt to see their sad faces. I remember the first day on the bus to pick up the kids, I was nervous yet excited. Then a little girl took my job of pitting bracelets on the kids wrists. When we were handing out flyers I saw a baby girl far away from her house. She was wearing only a diaper. There was glass and sticks and there was a road nearby and she could have got severally hurt. It made me want to cry. Then her mom came by and she was nice. WOW!” – Mody Monsour

“ I was nervous about going on my first missions trip, not knowing what to expect. But being with the kids made me feel at home. I loved being with them and seeing them smile at the simplest things. It made me appreciate my life so much more.” – Michelle McClure

FINE ARTS

WOW What a weekend it was at FINE ARTS. We had 8 teens make the trip to Wichita. We had teens that were involved in song writing, solo, short sermon, poetry, graphic design, drawing and t-shirt design. It was a blessing to watch teens use their God given talents and step outside the box. I am so proud of our teens. Here are the results from Fine Arts.

ALLmost

WILD Youth will be starting a new series this wednesday call ALLmost.

It seems that we all get so comfortable almost making the team or almost doing our best or almost serving Jesus. This series is going to go straight to your heart, soul, mind and strength. We will be asking the same question throughout the series – Does Jesus have ALL of you or ALL most all of you? We will be using the greatest commandment to call students into a relationship with Jesus that is ALL in!

So, I'm reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan right now. Last night after
youth, I read this, It connected to what we were talking about, which I
thought was definitely a God thing :-)

"The Rooted.

The average Christian in the United States spends ten minutes per day
with God; meanwhile, the average American spends over four hours a day
watching television.
Perhaps TV is not your thing--maybe you don't even own one. But how
about your time and your resources? How much of your money is spent on
yourself, and how much is directed toward God's kingdom? How much of
your time is dedicated to pursuing your life and your goals, and how
much is focused on God's work and purposes?

God doesn't want religious duty. He doesn't want a distracted,
half-hearted, 'Fine, I'll read a chapter...now, are You happy?'
attitude. God wants His Word to be a delight to us, so much so that we
meditate on it day and night.

In Psalm 1, He promises that those who do so are 'like a tree planted by
streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does
not wither. Whatever he does prospers' (v. 3).

People who are OBSESSED with God have an intimate relationship with Him.
They are nourished by God’s Word throughout the day because they know
that forty minutes on Sunday is not enough to sustain them for a whole
week, especially when they will encounter so many distractions and
alternative messages.”

Lazer Tag

WILD Youth will be taking a trip to Joplin MO for an afternoon of Lazer Tag and a trip to the Joplin Mall. This will be on the 22nd of January. We will leave the church at 1pm on Saturday and be back at the church at 6:30pm. The cost for 2 games will be $12. We will have dinner at the food court. The average cost of a meal would be $5. MAKE A DIFFERENCE WEDNESDAY

Wow What a Wednesday night. The WILD Youth Teens came together at the ROTC gym to bag up 2000 items of food to feed the needy. This was a Wesley House project that we partnered with. The food items will be distributed to the needy in Crawford County on Thursday and Friday. This project was one of our “Make a Difference” Projects. I am so proud of our teens as they worked hard to make a difference. To see more images please click here.

HOUSE OF BOUNCE

WILD youth made the trip to Joplin MO to the House of Bounce and then to Woody's Smoke house for dinner. It was a great evening of Bouncing. To view Images of this event please Click Here.

YOUTH CONVENTION

It was a great weekend at Youth Convention. We had 31 make the tip to Wichita KS. We had a great time Friday afternoon hanging out at the Best Western. We had teens swimming, playing games, and hanging out with friends. Dinner was at the Cinnamon deli.

The evening service at convention was amazing. God moved in a very powerful way. Lives were being transformed. We had breakthroughs in the lives of our own teens. It was amazing to see teens hungry for God at the altars. The rest of the night was a blur. That’s right the teens had a blast I was ready for bed.

Saturday was different at youth convention. We put serving into action. We had a mini missions project with 1400 teens serving and loving strangers. We had 700 people from the surrounding community that showed up to the church. We loved on them by giving them free food, organized games for the kids, did face painting, gave away 10 bikes, and Convoy of Hope was on site and gave away 2000 bags of Groceries. It was a great event. 150 people got prayed for a 9 of them gave their lives to Christ. How awesome is that.

Saturday afternoon was a blast. There were tons of giveaways for the teens and a great celebration worship service. The afternoon ended with a God size challenge.

Every year we give towards a Speed the Light project. This year the project was to raise funds to help purchase a Convoy of Hope Trailer. Kansas had promised to raise $10,000 as one of their projects for 2011. We were going to kick start this project at convention by taking a speed the light offering. God worked a miracle and the teens experienced it. We raised $10,100 in one offering on Saturday evening. How amazing is that. Over all we had a great time at convention. We went expecting and experienced GOD.

Hi WILD Teens. Hope you are all having a great Monday. Hope you are getting your “Hands Dirty” by serving and loving people. Do not forget your challenge this week to show kindness to a person you would normally not hang out with.

This is also a reminder that this Wednesday is our Make a Difference Wednesday. With what you guys gave and the youth fund matching we are able to hand out 50 $5 gift cards. This is great news.

Please be in prayer for this Wednesday. Let’s ask God to use us to make an impact in someone’s life for his glory. Lets ask his to over flow in us so that people we touch see HIM through us. Let us make this more than JUST a Gift card giving outreach. Lets make it an outreach were seed are planted. YOU ARE NOT TOO YOUNG TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Come expecting to “Make A Difference”

MAKE A DIFFERENCE WEDNESDAY

Make a difference Wednesday is a WILD youth community outreach project. With this project teens and sponsors will be walking thru wal mart randomly handing out five-dollar wal mart gift cards to individuals and blessing them. We will also have a team of teens outside wal mart handing out hot chocolate to customers walking in and out of wal mart. We will be challenging every teen to give something in a form of a sacrifice to make a difference in someone else’s live in the next two weeks during our Wednesday night youth services. The church will match what come in from this special offering and use these funds to purchase the gift cards. We will be at wal mart on Wednesday the 3rd of November from 7pm to 8pm. LET’S MAKE A DIFFERENCE by shining Christ love thru our actions.

GET DIRTY

WILD Youth will be kicking off a new series this Wednesday - GET DIRTY

From the beginning, serving has involved getting dirty. God Himself got His hands dirty when He created man. Jesus got His hands dirty cleansing lepers and healing the sick. If we want to get involved in the life of Jesus, it means we expect to Get Dirty. It may be dangerous and will for sure be fun. It is impossible to serve from a safe distance. Let’s roll up our sleeves, dive into the lives of those who need Jesus and wash some dirty feet!
